Rubjerg Knude Fyr

Some photos of the lighthouse Rubjerg Knude Fyr on the North Sea coast of North Jutland, Denmark. It was built in 1899.

On our way back from Sweden to Germany we made a little detour and took the ferry from Göteborg to Frederikshavn to take the route along the beautiful west coast of Denmark. Of course, we visited the Rubjerg Knude Fyr (fyr = lighthouse) which stands in the middle of a huge dune.

You can learn more about this lighthouse at Wikipedia. View the location on openstreetmaps.org.

Update 22nd October 2019

Today the lighthouse was moved further away from the coast to preserve it from falling into the sea.
