This is the ruin of a chapel close to Climbach, France. It was build in the 12th century and destroyed about 1630. This a station of the geocache Medieval Cache V – Chapelle de Climbach.
About the processing of this picture:
The light in this scene was really difficult. As you can see the contrast range is very high because the foreground lies in the shadow of a mountain and the background in the sun. I took several single exposures to get a picture with no burned out sky AND no black foreground but that was just impossible and the post processing also couldn’t help me out. Finally I combined 3 bracket shots which I had taken after the single exposures. And what’s the result? A well exposed picture. I’m quite happy with the result. Personally, I think this is one of the better HDR images I have created until now.
