The city that never sleeps, taken from the “Top of the Rock”, that’s the top of the GE Building which is one of the buildings of the Rockefeller Center. Though I used a tripod I had to choose very short exposure times up there (5 sec.) The wind was so strong I had to wait for short breaks between the wind gusts.

Very cool. Have the buildings been toned in the post processing, or is that how they were captured? Got a sepia, Matrix-esqe look to it.

    Hi Richard,
these are almost the original tones; the setting sun spent a warm light. I just changed the temperature a little bit.
    Thanks!

Hey Matze. Die Farben sind echt geil hier. Der Leuchtturm gibt dem Ganzen noch einen “Eyecatcher” ;) Fett.

Matthias, you never stop amazing me. I always wanted this type of shot, and I haven’t been to NYC enough to get it. Wonderful, wonderful image. For me the most striking thing is your composition, I know from my own experience once you get up there with the whole city at your feet it can sometimes be hard to isolate one scene. Well you have created a perfectly exposed snap shot of an amazing city. Great sky as well … how long after sunset?

Thank you Mark! I really appreciate your comments! I took this about 1 hour after sunset.
